What does cladding need to be like for houses made of wood? Why should it have specific characteristics? These questions are answered in the “Cladding for wooden houses” practical manual on the subject, produced by ARCA, the preview of which will be presented at Rebuild in Riva del Garda on May 29th – 30th.
The book, written specifically for houses made of wood, but not aimed only at technicians, was designed as an informative product, to give support to anyone who wants to build a wooden house. Inside there are concrete solutions, practical examples, in depth construction and regulatory details to ensure the quality of the cladding and its durability for wooden buildings, as required by the ARCA Certification.
There are also in-depth details about the various existing insulating materials, explaining their benefits and characteristics.
The manual, which came about following the success of the “Safe chimney” practical manual, was created by a working group within which the ARCA Network participated, made up of ARCA accredited planners, partner companies, the University of Trento, the Municipality of Trento and DAW Italy, ARCA’s technical partner, who provided its own technicians and experts along with the experience gained through Italian and European working groups and building sites.
“ETICS systems are the ideal solution for the insulation and protection of buildings in wood - stated Federico Tedeschi, Technical Promotion Director of DAW Italy and also the coordinator for the Cortexa Technical Commission and Chairman of the EAE Technical Committee. The new ARCA manual efficiently defines the characteristics that systems need, and also the performance that can be achieved, giving indications for the correct design and execution of thermal cladding on a wooden structure.”
