Scientific Partner

About 400 researchers work on issues that closely affect people's lives: this is what happens in the offices and laboratories of Eurac Research, a private research center founded in 1992 in Bolzano. The research themes are inspired by relevant issues at the local level, and then move to a global level. The objective of the studies is to contribute to a healthy society, to regions where it is worthwhile to live and better manage social, cultural and ecological diversity. Within Eurac Research, the Institute for Renewable Energy studies the technologies to produce and manage energy at different levels: from industrial applications to integration in buildings, from the definition of the energy balance of a single building to that of a energy plan of an entire neighborhood or city. The Institute's research focuses on five distinct areas: sustainable heating and cooling systems, photovoltaic systems, energy efficiency of buildings, energy restoration of historic buildings, urban and regional energy systems.
