Francesco Cattaneo’s role within Habitech is that of Commissioning Manager. He gained his degree in electronic engineering at Milan Polytechnic in 1981 and is a member of the Order of Engineers for the Province of Rome, no. 20305. He has spent most of his working life at the engineering company, Intertecno S.p.A., where he has been Installation Technical Office Manager, Project Manager and Quality Manager for the Rome branch. He is specialised in the re-qualification of historical buildings and has taken part, as project manager or planning coordinator, in a number of important hotel re-building projects (including: Grand Hotel, Excelsior, De Russie and Intercontinental in Rome; and the Danieli and Europa Regina in Venice) and office buildings (including the Palazzo Tergesteo in Trieste). In recent years he has been actively involved in the sustainable construction sector and building wellness. He has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2009. In 2010 he started a permanent collaboration with Habitech, with whom he has been involved in over 20 LEED certification projects, both in the field of new buildings and that of re-qualification, taking care of Commissioning, modelling, energy analysis and internal environmental quality. He is also involved in the training field. He was contract professor for Project Management at the Architecture faculty of Rome Sapienza University and regularly holds courses for the internal personnel of Habitech on subjects such as project management, quality control and plant installation. He is a LEED trainer for the Italian Green Building Council Italia and member of one of the committees charged with revising the protocols issued by GBC Italy. He has carried out project evaluations in the energy field for the European Commission.
